Our Services

PFWCA UK delivers free, community-based health screening, education, and early intervention services across Buckinghamshire and surrounding areas.

Building on our growing outreach within local communities, we provide accessible and culturally responsive health support to underserved populations, helping to identify risks early and improve health outcomes.

Our services are delivered at no cost to participants and are designed to complement NHS provision by increasing engagement, supporting prevention, and facilitating appropriate referrals to primary care services.

🎗️ Cancer Awareness & Early Detection

Cancer caught early is cancer more likely to be beaten. We work to raise awareness of cancer signs and symptoms, and signpost individuals to NHS cancer screening programmes, including:

• Breast cancer awareness and mammography signposting

• Cervical cancer education and smear test encouragement

• Prostate cancer awareness for men in the community

• Bowel cancer early symptom education

We are particularly focused on reaching communities where cancer screening uptake is historically low.

🩺 Community Health Screening

We organise free community health screening events targeting conditions that disproportionately affect underserved and minority communities.

Screenings include:

• Blood pressure (hypertension)

• Blood glucose (diabetes)

• BMI and obesity-related risk assessment

• Cholesterol awareness

• Basic vision and hearing checks

Our trained health volunteers and clinicians conduct screenings in community halls, faith buildings, and public spaces, wherever our communities gather.

Community Health Delivered With Care

Many individuals in underserved communities struggle to access the NHS effectively, due to language barriers, lack of familiarity with the system, or fear. We help by:

• Supporting GP registration

• Explaining NHS services, rights, and entitlements

• Providing health literacy sessions

• Connecting individuals with culturally appropriate interpreters and advocates
