1. Purpose

PFWCA UK is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. This policy outlines our approach to preventing harm and responding to safeguarding concerns.

3. Key Principles

  • The welfare of the individual is paramount

  • All individuals have the right to protection from harm

  • Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility

4. Safeguarding Lead

A designated Safeguarding Lead will:

  • Receive concerns

  • Record incidents

  • Refer to appropriate authorities

5. Recognising Abuse

Includes:

  • Physical

  • Emotional

  • Sexual

  • Neglect

  • Financial abuse

6. Reporting Procedure

If a concern arises:

  1. Record details immediately

  2. Report to Safeguarding Lead

  3. Escalate to local authority or emergency services if urgent

7. DBS Checks

All relevant staff/volunteers must hold valid DBS clearance.

8. Review

Policy reviewed annually.
